Who is responsible
STREET RESEARCH CONSULTING LTD, trading as Side Street Research, operates this website and is the controller of personal information processed for our enquiries and expressions of interest. The company is registered in England and Wales under number 16813676; its registered office is 14 Boundary Close, Woodstock, Oxfordshire, United Kingdom, OX20 1LR.
For privacy questions and requests, contact eduard@sidestreetresearch.com. Our legal information page provides the company’s public registration details.
What we collect and why
Direct contact gives us the information you choose to include in your email and the details needed to reply. The careers questionnaire, when open, collects your name, email, area of interest, country or time zone, optional professional links, technical strengths, relevant experience and brief answers about scientific thinking. We use these details to assess potential research or engineering collaboration, respond to your enquiry and discuss suitable opportunities. Optional information is not required. The careers questionnaire is currently not accepting submissions.
Please avoid sensitive personal data, confidential research, client information or intellectual property you do not have permission to share. We do not use applications for trading decisions, marketing lists or model training.
Our lawful basis
We rely on legitimate interests to respond to voluntary enquiries, assess potential research collaboration and protect the website against abuse. These interests are communicating with prospective collaborators and maintaining a secure service. Acknowledging this notice is not consent to unrelated processing or marketing.
Storage, access and processors
Validated submissions are stored as private records in Vercel Blob. Vercel hosts the website and processes submissions. Cloudflare Turnstile provides abuse prevention and processes technical request information such as the IP address and browser signals under its own terms. Vercel’s native Firewall checks a server-generated pseudonymous IP key to limit repeated submission attempts. The key is used for abuse prevention, not applicant assessment; it does not contain your raw IP address or email. Vercel also processes hosting and security request information under its own policies. Application answers are not placed in application logs or exposed through a public listing endpoint.
Access is restricted to the operator and authorized people involved in assessing the expression of interest. Contact email is handled through Google Workspace. These providers may process information outside the United Kingdom, including in the United States. The private application store is configured in the United States. Before reopening the questionnaire, we will review the processor arrangements and applicable international-transfer safeguards for applicant information. Contact us for information about relevant provider arrangements. See Vercel’s privacy notice, Cloudflare’s privacy notice and Google’s privacy notice.
Retention and deletion
Our retention policy is to delete expressions of interest within 90 days of submission unless an ongoing conversation requires retention and we agree an extension with you. You may request earlier deletion by emailing from the address used in your submission and, if available, quoting your application ID. Records carry a 90-day deletion deadline. The operator is responsible for a daily retention review and authenticated deletion; this is not yet an automated deletion job. A storage timestamp alone does not remove a record.
We retain direct research and business enquiries for as long as needed to respond and maintain a relevant record of the conversation. You may ask us to delete information that is no longer needed.
Your rights and choices
You may request access, correction, deletion or restriction of your information, and portability where the right applies. We may ask for proportionate verification before disclosing or deleting a record, without requesting unnecessary sensitive documents.
You may object to processing based on legitimate interests. Send your objection or another privacy request to eduard@sidestreetresearch.com. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office, or another supervisory authority where applicable.
Submitting an expression of interest is voluntary and does not create an employment or contractual relationship. The form asks you to acknowledge this notice before submitting. You may instead contact the operator by email. No automated hiring decision is made solely from questionnaire responses.
Cookies and security
We do not include advertising trackers or optional analytics. The form’s abuse-prevention service may use technical storage or signals needed to protect submissions. Private storage, server-side validation and access restrictions reduce risk; no online system can guarantee absolute security.
